There are a few different ways to start a New Matter in your Rally account.

The first way is to Navigate to the New Matter tab at the top of your screen. This will show you a list of available templates that you can choose from.

From there, you can assign the matter a name, associate a specific client and proceed to fill in the related information.

The second way is to navigate to the client's profile that you wish to start a matter for. You can do this by clicking "Clients" in your top navigation bar and then searching for the client or clicking on "Add client" if they do not already exist.

Once you are on the client's profile/dashboard, you will see the "New Matter" drop-down on the right with a number of options.

Select from Menu of Services

This option will allow you to choose to kick off a matter from the Menu of Service options. Clicking here will take you to a menu where you can see the available options and select what you would like to get started with.

Clicking on the menu option and then clicking "Get Started" will take you to the questionnaire for the selected matter. Completing the questionnaire will then generate the associated documents on the client's profile.

Note: Not all firms have a menu of services available, so if this option isn't there, don't worry about it!

Use Firm Template

After selecting "Use Firm Template" you will be brought to a list of available templates in your account. You can then search to find the one you are looking for.

By selecting the template you would like to use to kick-off your matter, you will be brought to the template questionnaire. Fill out the questionnaire and, upon submission, the questionnaire will immediately generate the associated documents for your review.

Create Blank Matter

Choosing this option will enable you to create a new blank matter and create a name for it. You can then proceed to upload any files that pertain to this matter and your service provider will be able to see them as well.

Start Matter from File

From a client's profile, you can quickly start a matter from a file by uploading the document and clicking "Upload" or "Send for signing" if you are ready to have it signed right away. This will automatically create a matter with the document you uploaded.
